It's that time of year, again

The last lazy day of summer is here.
I slept until 8:47.
I had such good intentions of using this week to re-boot my "school-year" clock. You know, get up a little earlier each day, in an attempt to make next Monday morning not feel like punishment. Truth is, if we were in regular school, we'd be getting up sometime between 5 and 6. But that's one of the beautiful things about homeschooling. I can indulge my not-a-morning-person self and sleep until 8 7.
Whatever.
My kids have finally gotten to the magic age of sleep. Babies never let you get any (sleep, that is), and toddlers are so full of energy that sleep isn't even close to being on their minds. But this? These kids are more my speed. They'll sleep past 8 with no problem, and Caleb has been hauling his tail out of bed around 9:30 of late.
I'm a night owl, so climbing in the bed past midnight is a regular occurence for me.
But today is the day.
The last day of summer break.
We're going to the library to report Hailey's fiendish summer reading, and rack up on prizes. I'm so proud of her!
We are going to Target, Sam's, and do a little geocaching.
And then we're going back to Aunt Chris' to get our swim groove on one more time.

Yay, SUMMER!!!!

My semi-sleep-in days are coming to a close...but it's also giving me a great reason to get up and workout. It's bittersweet though.

I hope you have a lovely day with those sleeping-well kiddos!

I had to laugh a the first part of this. Ditto! I have been telling Benjamin to get to sleep early because he is going to have to get up early. I think the earliest I got him up was 9.
