I wrote my daily to-do task list on the dry erase board in the class room, lest I forget to do something today. It is very long, yet I sit here at the computer reading all the blogs I have missed the past couple of days, and writing one of my own. It takes me a while to get going in the morning.
Mostly, I have calls today, but the places I have to call are not open yet, so it's okay.
This weekend Shawn looked around our bedroom and realized that none of our stuff will match the pale pink master bedroom at the new house, so he said we should go ahead and paint it before we move into it. The master bedroom is one of the only two rooms without wall paper, so he figured it wouldn't take very long. Of course, since he's not allowed to hold so much as a brush, this meant I would be doing the painting. So yesterday, I went, picked out the color, bought some supplies, and started painting. Fortunately, I had already moved a small space heater over there, and the room heated up nicely. I was able to do the first coat of the trim. So today, among all the other stuff I have to do, I will be going back to the house to do another coat of trim, and possibly one coat of rolling. Whoopie!

Why is he not allowed to hold a paint brush?
Well, the last time I let him help me, I was doing a sponging technique, which was very imprecise. Since I like the lines to be very clean, I actually taped off the popcorn ceiling, which I don't usually do. When he asked if there was something he could do, I decided that taping off was pretty harmless, and let him do it. After finishing the wall, I pulled down the tape to find that he didn't seal the edge well enough and paint was ALL OVER the ceiling. Now, I have a flash temper, but that time I was mad enough to throw things. (might have actually done it, too.) His solution...
Crown moulding.
So I got the most expensive kind I wanted.
And he no longer helps me paint.
I'm laughing at the story about the moulding...you are so funny.
What beautiful color did you pick?
Oh, I see. Sorry I asked. Hope I did not cause any old bad feelings to resurface.
so many jokes...
Tina, something along a golden brown, or maybe it's a brownish gold.
Kelli, No problem! I've forgiven him... again.
Chris, you know too much!
I don't love to paint, but I do love the amount of bang you get for your buck. Have fun!
I do not like to paint, but I do love a freshly painted room! Hope it turns out nice and doesn't end up being too much work!
Have a good week - Kellan
Ooo can't wait to see the results.
Don't you just love it when they decide one more thing for you? Our church is moving into a building and I was painting yesterday. Motrin is mah friend right now.
Oh, but just think how wonderful it will feel when you have finished and you guys get moved in.
