Why we do what we do

On this roller coaster we call life, there are highs and lows, twists and turns. Sometimes we end up in a place we never expected.

When I was younger I knew that one day I wanted to be a wife and possibly a mother, so that's no surprise. I just never imagined the challenges that loving would create.

There are rewards and sacrifices along the way, and somehow I began to realize that the rewards heavily outweighed the sacrifices.

The child who looks at me with the sky in his eyes and tells me he loves me best.

The young-almost-woman who wraps her arms understandingly around me while I cry from exhaustion and tells me that I'm doing a great job and she's proud of me.

The husband who stands behind every heart-wrenching decision I make.

These are the reasons to love. These are the reasons to be. These are the reasons I do what I do.
